Gotta hand it to Jakks Pacific. They are making figures that are easily accessible and unique! Just check out this lineup!
- Toon Link
- Red Pikmin
- Cranky Kong
- Toon Ganondorf
Hopefully the Red Pikmin either comes with Olimar or a pal, cause asking full price for the little guy would be a bit much. Also, doesn't Ganondorf look great? I also love Toon Link's expression.
A new host of figures from Furuta and their choco egg line! As predicted, Cat Peach and the Double Cherry appear here. There are some surprises, though!
- Cat Peach
- Red Sprixie
- Plessie (Mounted head?!)
- Goomba in Kuribo's Skate
- Ant Trooper
- Double Cherry
- Para-Biddybud (Two colors)
- Coin Coffer
Coming late February 2015. According to AmiAmi's listing, Cat Rosalina is also on the list, but not pictured. Is that to be believed, or will a third set have Rosalina and Cat Rosalina with a Boomerang Flower and more enemies? Or maybe Plessie's other half?! Time will tell!
Coming in April 2015 from known expensive figure maker threezero comes Lieutenant Commander Shepard in his armored suit. All details, right down to his mustache, are are meticulous. Comes with two guns, the Omni Blade, a slew of extra hands, and a hefty price tag. NCSX has the twelve inch figure priced at $219.
Square Enix's Play Arts Kai line is known for amazing figures, and they've been making figures based on the Metal Gear Solid line for some time. Now, another villain appears in the form of Skull Face. As always, articulation will be impressive, and the figure comes with an extra had, a gun, a hat, and three extra hands for posability.
He's not cheap though. NCSX has him for pre-order at just under $100. He comes out in late February next year.
Sega All-Stars number four is Beat! Straight from Tokyo-To to your shelf comes this beautiful recreation. 1250 of the teen are available for Sega fans to pre-order, and he is $230. LEDs in the inline skates' sparks make them lifelike.
Expect him to be out around Q2 2015.
Kirby and Meta Knight bath toys. Out by late November for 450 yen. You place the ball in the bath, it goes effervescent, and the toy is revealed. All blind packaged and blind . . . balled.
Warp Star lamp. Out by late November for 1,680 yen. Press on it to light it up. This is just a great design.
When you put the Dragon Quest cup on the Dragon Quest coaster, it plays a jingle from Dragon Quest. Two styles, coming in March 2015 from Taito.
Love him or hate him, Silver is here to stay, and now he has a high-articulation figure on the way. Jazwares will release him in late January, and AmiAmi has him for 3200yen.
Comes with some great accessories, and good posability, even with that giant head. Release date is looking like late May 2015.
Most places peg him around $50, but AmiAmi is cheaper.
Pre-order at AmiAmi for a discount.
Lucario, Rosalina and Luma, Bowser, Toon Link, Sheik, Ike (first figure ever!), Meta Knight, King Dedede, Shulk (another first!), Sonic, and Mega Man! Oh wow! I wasn't sure if the third-party characters would come out, but BOO-YAH! I wonder about how Sonic and Mega Man will be used in other games, and if licensing will get really hairy as time moves on.
Mega Man, X, Volnutt, Megaman.EXE, and a Yellow Devil will come out in February via Bandai. Blind boxed for your frustration, Big Bad Toy Store has them up for pre-order at $3.99 a box. These will go up against KidRobot's figures, and they seem quite similar. All this Mega Man merch and no game. Astounds the mind.
This Yoshi light looks great, but it may not give off much light. Oddly, the bulk of the light will actually remain unlit, as only the fruit on the tip of Yoshi's tongue will illuminate once placed there. Think of it more like a great Yoshi statue with a gimmick. Heh.
$23.90 from NCSX. Shipping in January.
The first set brought a whole lotta Mario and Luigi, but there are plenty more characters in the Mario universe that sport custom lids. Wario, Waluigi, Toad, Peach, and even Toadette (first bit of official Toadette merchandise!) add their head-toppers to the pile of bottle toppers that appear to be popular items in Japan.
Coming from Takara Tomy Arts in February 2015. Snag a pre-order from NCSX for $20.90.
Coming this February 2015, Square Enix has released info on a Master Chief Play Arts Kai figure. The figure will come with Master and Energy sword, M7 submachine gun x 2, Replacement hand parts x 5, and a Play Arts display pedestal. Posability is at an all-time high.
NCSX has him for pre-order for under a hundy.
Because of course they do, and NA won't. Bleh. Steelbook, double-sided poster, and a really cool Majora's Mask pin. Spring 2015. Go to the forums to see the poster.
Fire Peach, Cat Mario, White Tanooki Mario, Luigi, Toad, Cheep Cheep, and a Goomba. I'll post the numbers in a separate post once we know them. Should be around in the next month or so in stores, or order from K'nex.
Death. The often unspoken truth of video games. Rarely do we see merchandise based on the darkest hour of the heroes of the game, but this set from Takara Tomy Arts goes down that rabbit hole.
Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo have all fallen in battle and are now in their "unconscious" form (a.k.a. ghost with halo form . . .). Ness also gets blown up for good measure. Teleport fail!
These flat "plate" keychains are pixelated for pure nostalgia.
They are coming in February 2015. You can pre-order from NCSX for $22.90 now, or see what prices arrive at for release.
